- P-TLS (Para-toluenesulfonamide) is a proprietary small-molecule tumor ablation therapy independently developed by Gongwin Biopharm. Compared with systemic therapies, P-TLS offers the advantage of rapid local therapeutic activity at the treatment site. Unlike physical ablation techniques, P-TLS demonstrates high selectivity toward tumor cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. Its anticancer mechanism of action is distinct from that of conventional anticancer therapies.
- P-TLS is a small-molecule active pharmaceutical ingredient developed by Gongwin Biopharm that selectively targets tumor cells by initiating irreversible cell death while suppressing further tumor cell proliferation.
- At the cellular level, P-TLS destabilizes lipid raft domains within the cancer cell membrane, disrupts cholesterol recycling, and ultimately inhibits tumor cell survival, proliferation, and metastasis. In addition, P-TLS activates autophagy, leading to lysosomal and mitochondrial disruption, which induces apoptosis and tumor necrosis.
- Proprietary small-molecule tumor ablation therapy
- Selectively targets tumor cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissue
- Local administration for rapid therapeutic effect
- Novel mechanism of action distinct from conventional anticancer agents
- Induces apoptosis, autophagy, and tumor necrosis
- Designed for intratumoral administration
How is P-TLS Administered?
P-TLS is administered directly into the tumor (intratumoral injection) by a licensed veterinarian.
Depending on the tumor location, size, and the patient's condition, sedation or general anesthesia may be required. To ensure the safety of both the patient and veterinary staff, the procedure should always be performed in a veterinary clinic or hospital.
What Should I Expect During P-TLS Treatment?
The most common local reaction following P-TLS injection is wound formation at the treatment site, corresponding to the area where the tumor undergoes necrosis.
Although the extent of wound formation varies among patients, P-TLS is designed to selectively target tumor tissue while minimizing damage to adjacent healthy tissue.
Following sedation or general anesthesia, some dogs may temporarily experience:
- Reduced activity
- Mild lethargy
- Decreased appetite
These effects are generally transient and resolve as the patient recovers.
Possible Side Effects of P-TLS Treatment
The most frequently observed adverse effects are associated with sedation or general anesthesia, including:
- Temporary loss of appetite
- Lethargy
- Fatigue
Pain, swelling, or tenderness at the injection site may also occur as part of the tumor necrosis process. Your veterinarian may prescribe pain medication if necessary.
Additional adverse events may occur depending on the individual patient and tumor characteristics. Please consult your veterinarian for further information.
Contact Your Veterinarian Immediately If Your Dog Experiences:
- Lethargy or fatigue lasting longer than 24 hours
- Severe pain or persistent limping
- Vomiting or diarrhea lasting more than 24 hours
- Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing
- Excessive bleeding, swelling, or ulceration at the injection site
- Any other signs or symptoms that concern you
